Abstract

The study is an opportunity to answer the question, what is changing in the ways of celebration shown on television in the New Year's Eve program after 2000 until 2024, when directors, producers, writers, actors and television owners have no prescriptions on what ideological tasks to perform and have the freedom to create how to celebrate the New Year in the new program? The text presents the results of the research on the choice of the creators of the New Year's Eve program in the television “canon” of the Bulgarian National Television and the two private national TV channels - bTV and Nova TV in the period 2000-2024. The paper shows the mechanism of how the four main elements of the New Year's Eve celebration are established from the square to the television: the speech of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, the anthem, the Danube Horo and Mnogaya Leta. The study shows that with the elements of the old ideological system before 1990, TV stations built a new commercial product such as the New Year's Eve TV program, and from the TV sketches with political satire after 2000 some future politicians were born.
