Abstract

Human groups are modeled much deeper by the non-rational effect of emotions. Philosophizing on the role and responsibility of music has been based on this assumption. In the past listening to music was limited to festivals and rituals, whereas today it accompanies a major part of our lives. Political battles are battles of styles and emotions, as well (some Bulgarian examples are given). But the citizens are not passive targets in this process: they constantly choose their identity and political positioning through musical emotions.
