Editorial Ethics
PRINCIPLES OF EDITORIAL ETHICS
Ethical standards in publishing are necessary to ensure the high quality of scientific publications, the preservation of public trust in scientific research, and the recognition of original contributions in the scientific community. The journal Media and Language is guided by international standards established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The documents Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors and Code of Conduct for Journal Publishers are published at http://publicationethics.org/.
Editors organize the publishing process by:
respecting the rights of authors, reviewers, and other participants in the process;
preserving the confidentiality of personal data and their research;
ensuring communication between participants in the process, preserving their personal dignity and ensuring respectful treatment of each of them;
ensure the evaluation of the intellectual content of manuscripts, regardless of the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, origin, citizenship or political affiliation of the authors;
ensure compliance with high academic standards and objectivity in evaluations;
monitor the progressive implementation of all stages of the editorial, review and publishing process.
