Cinema as a Cultural Ambassador in Bulgaria: A Statistical Overview of Movie Theaters (01.01.2015 – 28.10.2024)

The article examines statistical data regarding the countries whose productions are most frequently screened in Bulgarian commercial cinemas. The data covers the period between January 1, 2015, and October 28, 2024. The information excludes movies shown at film festivals and those featured in boutique cinemas in the country.
The data provided by the National Film Center includes: the film’s title, country of origin, co-producing country, number of viewers, and premiere date. Since the film’s title and premiere date are irrelevant to the current research, this information was filtered. However, continent, official religion, and political union have been extrapolated.
