The Model of South Korean Online Media Ohmynews in Citizen Journalism

The publication introduces the citizen journalism model implemented by South Korean news website OhMyNews (http://www.ohmynews.com), created in 2000, considered to be a pioneer in journalism with the participation of non-professional journalists. The publication explores the new features of journalists, editors, audience, media message and journalism according to OhMyNews. The journalistic model of OhMyNews is analyzed according to the characteristics of the new digital media. The publication traced the development of the media in the social, economic and technological context of South Korea from the late 1990s to the early 21st century.
