Abstract

The sexual education of kids is an important topic, which despite its delicacy should be publicly discussed and analysed so that it can be helpful primarily for parents. As their children’s first teachers, parents are often faced with the intimate questions, asked by their children and for which answers they are not prepared. The possibilities for sex education of kids are numerous and one of them are the books, which encourage families to talk with their children about these topics. The present text explores the appearance of one such book on the Czech market. Aimed at the youngest – the four-year-olds, through which they can learn their first sex education lessons in an understandable manner. The contents of the book shocked a big part of the Czech society and there could be found opinions that the written is “pure pornography”. In the text you can read parts of the opinions of experts and politicians that are publicised in Czech online media, as well as the position of the publisher that has decided to add the book to its portfolio of children’s book.
