Фонетични и фонологични универсалии при взаимните асимилации

Взаимната асимилация е фонологичен процес, при който два съседни сегмента или двата компонента на съгласна с вторична артикулация се сливат, образувайки междинен сегмент, приемащ някои признаци на първия и част от тези на втория. Настоящата статия изследва фонологичните параметри на взаимната асимилация при съгласните и при гласните, като откроява някои типологически закономерности при това явление. Всяка от тези закономерности е съотнесена към определени учленителни, слухови или аеродинамични параметри на вокалния тракт или на речевата продукция, с цел да се потърси логично фонетично обяснение за нея.
