Urban Space and Bread Ovens

Abstract

The following topic reveals the role of the bread oven in the contemporary daily people’s life in cities, by the example of the capital city of Sofia. Attention is paid to periods just like Antiquity and the Middle Ages, also current trends in bread making which gain importance amongst the urban society. Various cases are considered such as appearance and development of urban bakeries, working tendencies, style and affirmation in the urban space.
