Vol. 11 No. 11 (2025): Treni
The present, eleventh issue of the journal Tereni includes articles prepared as revised and expanded versions of papers presented at three academic events held in 2024 at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
The first two of these are the now well-established “April Readings” (26 April 2024) and “November Readings” (22 November 2024), organized as an academic platform for the presentation of work by students and doctoral candidates. Within these forums, a wide range of topics was presented, addressing different historical periods and problems. Even in their oral form, these contributions impressed with their high academic level, clearly formulated research questions, and strong analytical potential.
The third event, from which texts are included in this issue, is the student round table “History and Geopolitics in the Middle Ages”, held on 11 May 2024, also at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”. The forum was conceived in symbolic connection with the feast of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles brothers Cyril and Methodius and focused on various aspects of medieval Bulgarian, Balkan, and European history. The presented studies cover a wide thematic range, from military-political to economic and socio-cultural issues.
It is particularly important to note that all three academic forums brought together participants from different faculties of Sofia University, as well as from other universities and research institutions. Therefore, the present issue features contributions by doctoral candidates, master’s students, and bachelor’s students from various disciplines and with diverse research interests. The published materials demonstrate the active presence of young scholars in contemporary humanities research and the sustained interest in historical inquiry.
