The Bulgarian government has for decades maintained strong political, commercial
and cultural ties with the countries of the Arab world, especially Kuwait, during the Cold War.
This article provides an answer to the question of whether Bulgaria occupied a serious
position in the Kuwaiti country and how it managed to develop their bilateral relations
against the background of the aspirations of the neighboring Arab countries towards the
small Gulf state. The emphasis falls on the role of Bulgaria as a strategic partner of Kuwait in
achieving its broad political goals and ensuring its security.
