Abstract

Dr. Iliya Valkov’s monograph “Media and Politics: Intertwining and Influence” examines the relationships, dependencies, and dynamics between journalism and political power. Special attention is given to the state of media freedom in Bulgaria and to the challenges faced by the media in fulfilling their democratic role. The author emphasizes the need for the media to function as an independent public watchdog rather than being used by those in power as a tool for pressure and influence.
