German to Bulgarian translation, address forms, pronominal forms of addressAbstract
This article studies the translation of pronominal forms of address from German to Bulgarian. The study examines the development of the pronominal forms of address in German and in Bulgarian. This serves as a basis for the comparison of both systems and the analysis of their asymmetry. Examples from literature texts are used to illustrate the different uses of the pronominal forms of address in German and the features and deficiencies of their respective translations in Bulgarian are analysed. This analysis allows the development of possible methods for adequate translation of pronominal forms of address.
