Objectives and scope

Tereni /Terrains/  is a journal aimed both at young and established researchers. The main goal of the journal is to be:

- an authoritative platform for established scholars, allowing them to present their current research and achievements to the academic community in a timely manner and showcasing the academic debates of the day;

- a platform for young researchers, postgraduates and students, by publishing their papers from scientific conferences. We believe that the opportunity for young colleagues to learn about the process of academic publishing early in their careers contributes significantly to their development. By being offered the chance to publish their research, young researchers are also additionally motivated to participate in national and international forums.

The journal aims to be an important factor for the development of academic life at the Faculty of History of Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", as well as for the growth of an academic network, by building a basis for future collaborative work of colleagues from different scientific institutions in Bulgaria and abroad.

As an established academic edition, Tereni aims to draw the attention of authors and readers to the scientific study of cultural, social and historical processes and  phenomena, and to the dissemination of reliable scientific analyses and theses. The journal focuses on current topics and debates related to the dynamics of processes in the past and present, innovative ideas and interpretations, and the presentation of new research methods and techniques. The journal publishes research papers in the fields of the social sciences, with an emphasis on, but not limited to, ethnology and cultural anthropology, social and cultural history, museology, and folkloristics. It promotes interdisciplinary and inter-institutional research, innovative approaches and paradigms.

Being aimed at a national and international audience, Tereni puts a strong emphasis on the high standard of work of authors, editors and reviewers. The editorial board welcomes papers offering a significant contribution to the relevant academic field and complying with the ethical rules and requirements of the publication policy (link).
