With the assumption of rule on September 9, 1944, the "Bulgarian Workers' Party - Communists" implemented many legislative, economic, public, and social changes. One of their first steps was the introduction of legal texts to equalize the rights of men and women. The active industrialization to which those in power were leading the country required the inclusion of a large percentage of the population in production as workers and reduced the number of people employed in agriculture. In this way, the party secured the working class, on behalf of which the economic and political actions of the government were directed. Obtaining the status of equal citizens, women were obliged to join the labor market, which did not cancel their home and family responsibilities. Despite the accessible education and professional development in a preferred field, the largest percentage of working women was that of workers. The stories of people (women and men) whose full conscious life passed in the period from the middle of the 20th century to 1989 from the city of Panagyurishte, give us information about the duties, responsibilities, and mechanisms for dealing with the double commitment - the "second shift" of women workers. Another source of information about the place occupied by women workers in the public area is the local newspaper "Oborishte", which tracks all events and activities, mostly concerning the working class, as a reflection of the cult of the worker imposed by the state.
