The formation and upgrading of the Bulgarian’s National Revival self-value which literally and metaphorically leads to revolution in the art and culture as well as the social and political life is an act of ethnic self-definition which marks the whole 19th century and it also sets a positive seal on Bulgarian history. Reviewing the personality and life`s work of an individual person which has surpassed the boundaries of the social and cultural norms of our society at the time makes possible to analyze not only the historical and social interdependencies but it also lays the basis for assessment of future cultural and universal tendencies. The image of Zahari Zograf, his progressive art and the way in which the artist defends his right to be different make him a role model for generations – from the Bulgarian National Revival period until today.
