The article examines monuments of socialism that were preserved to prsent day in the region of Shumen. The monument “The Creators of the Bulgarian State”, also known as “1300th Anniversary of the Bulgarian State” the people who created it, are a specific focus of the study. The monument is an architectural complex dedicated to the 1300th anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian state. The monument, inaugurated in November 1981, is located in the highest part of the Danube plain, the Shumen Plateau, at 450 meters above sea level, towering over the city of Shumen.
