Резюме

Списание The Billboard излиза от 1894 г. като седмично издание, насочено към музикалната и развлекателната индустрия и през ХХ век придобива значително влияние в популярната култура на Съединените щати. На страниците си отразява широк спектър от събития, творци, популярни жанрове, класации, реклами, информация за продуценти и управители от развлекателния бранш и т. н. Въпреки че е концентрирано върху капиталистическия начин на производство, разпространение и консумация на музикална продукция, с различна честота в периода на Студената война помества информации и репортажи, касаещи по един или друг начин актуалната музикална култура в социалистическите страни от Съветския блок. Какво привлича вниманието на дописниците и как критериите/стереотипите на капиталистическата културна индустрия срещат музикалната продукция от страните отвъд „Желязната завеса“ и в частност на България е обект на настоящата работа.
