Cheerleading – a tool to achieve wellness culture in the Bulgarian school

Abstract

Cheerleading is an interactive tool to motivate young people to a wellness lifestyle. In the subject of physical education and sports they can be practiced as an extracurricular form of education. They contribute to the physical, aesthetic, musical, dance and intellectual development of students. Wellness indicators contribute to a sustainable emotional state with a cheerful, creative spirit, which supports the construction of a positive and stimulating work environment. School Wellness is regulated by the 9th key competence of the student in the Law on Preschool and School Education.

  • Irina Nesheva, National Sports Academy Vassil Levski

    Irina Nesheva is a full time Αssociate Professor, PhD, lecturer in the Department of Gymnastics at NSA ‘V. Levski’. She is a holder in basic gymnastics and teaching methodology, as well as in the gymnastic and recreational modules of the master’s programs in ‘SPA culture’. She is the leader and coach of the Cheerleading Team, a two-time winner of international tournaments in Rome, Italy (2012 and 2014).
