Fr. Stefan Cankov, The Principal Difficulties in Conducting Ecumenical Council In his article “The Principal Difficulties in Conducting an Ecumenical Coun- cil,” Fr. Stefan Tsankov presents his position on this pressing issue for the Orthodox Church. He precisely outlines the various aspects related to the problem and shares the opinions of other theological writers who have worked on this subject. Notably, his words at the end of the study are prophetic, as he suggests that it might be more prudent to focus not just on convening and holding an Ecumenical Council but on organizing a common Orthodox (Pan-Orthodox) Council. This event, which should have occurred in 2016, is intended to address a number of pressing theological questions. Thanks to the research of Prof. Archpriest Stefan Tsankov, Bulgarian theological science has made a fundamental contribution to the discussion of these church issues.Downloads
