The article “It is inevitable that at the border of two epochs some persons appear who hang up just at the edge…” (V. Pidmohylny): comprehension of the 'new' time in Ukrainian literature in the second decade of the last century” deals with peculiarity of comprehension of the 'new' time and its influence upon artistic world of the works by writers of neo-realistic (“Lanka”) and neo-romantic (VAPLite) trends. It is shown that aspiration of the “Lanka” members to connect the broken course of time explains their attention to the heredity violation between the past and the present while inspired by revolution neo-romantics paid their attention to the “new” time, sometimes appealing to the legendary past and the light future. Sense of absolute time novelty provoked in the works of neo-romantics a striving for full renovation of artistic means, it in particular resulted in the experiments with time in inherent world of the works.
