GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS
REVIEW OF MANUSCRIPTS
All manuscripts that meet the themes of the almanac "Ukrainian Studies in Bulgaria" are subject to double anonymous review. Based on the reviews, the editorial board makes a decision to accept or reject the material.
Sending a manuscript does not guarantee its publication in the Almanac.
Established scientists from various universities and scientific institutions in Bulgaria and abroad are involved as reviewers.
Electronic versions of the published texts cannot be published on personal websites, institutional repositories, social networks and other platforms without the express written permission of the publisher.
ARTICLE FORMATTING GUIDELINES
Requirements for the technical formatting of materials for publication in the almanac "Ukrainian Studies in Bulgaria":
I. The volume of scientific articles should not exceed 20 standard pages, or a total of 36,000 characters (together with the bibliography, tables, figures, footnotes and appendices). Other materials – reviews, information about events and projects, should not exceed 10 standard pages, or a total of 18,000 characters. Materials should be submitted in a DOCX format. In case you submit a PDF file, accompany it with a second version of the text and its appendices in a DOCX format.
II. The Almanac publishes articles in all Slavic languages and in English, and each article must be preceded by an annotation and keywords in Bulgarian and English.
1. The text must have the following format:

2. Citation within the text should be in the following form: (Ivanov 2000: 6), i.e. in parentheses should be included the author’s surname, a space, the year of publication of the cited source, a colon, a space, and the page/pages of the cited text.
3. The cited literature should be arranged in alphabetical order (Latin, Cyrillic, Greek script). Titles written in Cyrillic or Greek script are given with transliteration in square brackets after the original text.
When transliterating, the official rules of the respective country should be followed (for Bulgarian – the Transliteration Act).

To distinguish between more than one edition of the author from the same year, use the letters a, b, c (respectively а, б, в).
4. When citing sources from the Internet, the access date should also be indicated in the following way: (visited 19.02.2010).
5. Footnotes should be located on the corresponding page. Graphs and tables should be numbered and titled.
6. Acknowledgments or indication of a supporting organisation, foundation, etc. are indicated at the very end of the material.
III. At the end of the material, the following should be added: Brief introduction of the author/authors – institution, position, contact details – Times New Roman, size 10.
