Abstract

The present article reviews hitherto unpublished archives, held in Archives State Agency and the Union of Bulgarian Artists, as well as newspaper and journal articles about the history, organization and activity of the Society of Bulgarian Sculptors (SBS). This society is of particular interest because it is first society of artists from the same professional artistic field and its emergence enhances, enriches and broadens the analysis of processes and trends in the development of Bulgarian sculpture in this period.
