Съществуват ли семантично погрешни англицизми?

В статията се разглеждат някои основни въпроси в полето на семантичните процеси, настъпващи при заемането на лексикални единици. Предлага се хипотезата за излишеството на понятието „фалшив англицизъм“, тъй като залегналите в дефиницията на понятието условия за разпознаването му всъщност описват естествения процес на лексикално заемане.
Изказва се становището, че механизмите и процесите на вътрешноезикова семантична промяна, с изключение на концептуалната метафора като мотивираща сила в развитието на нови смисли при полисемни лексикални единици, са същите като тези при междуезиковото лексикално заемане (репликиране). Жизненият цикъл на роден неологизъм, създаден чрез семантична промяна или чрез процесите на словообразуване, е идентичен с този на заета (репликирана) лексикална единица.
