Abstract

The current study deals with focus projection in Bulgarian from an empirical perspective. The introductory part presents the idea of projection as a rational phenomenon in language. The field of literature takes notice of some major works which examines focus projection in Bulgarian and English. The next part of the study describes an experiment that has two basic aims: first, to examine whether there is focus projection in Bulgarian, and second, if such exists, what is the nature of its behavior. The conclusion analyzes the results from the experiment in comparison with English.
