BASIC PRINCIPLES IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MUSIC ACTIVITIES IN CHINESE COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOLS

Abstract

This paper analyses the new music curriculum in China in the context of the established Standards for the Arts Curriculum in Compulsory Education and, based on these documents, presents an authorial view of the basic principles on which music education in Chinese schools should be built from the perspective of the possibilities offered in the cited documents. The development of the students‘ artistic sense should be seen as the starting point in the teaching. Such treatment of the issues of artistic flair, its formation and development in the process of music education is not found in any publication in the Chinese scientific and methodological literature.
