Contemporary trends in the development of Chinese opera art

This article examines some of the main directions in the development of Chinese opera in contemporary conditions, highlighting the most pressing issues to be addressed. On this basis, the article offers specific suggestions, divided into several groups and relating to government policy in general, the training of personnel in universities and schools of arts, and the operation of opera houses. All of them are driven by several circumstances: the search for high artistic output, the preservation of what is national, promotion nationally and internationally, and the continued establishment of the authority of Chinese opera.
