Abstract

The paper offers a picture of the opportunities for music education and musical career for the visually impaired. A study was made in two higher schools in Bulgaria (in Sofia) about the number of visually impaired students taught in music majors in the last 10 years. An attempt was made to follow the musical career of these students, as well as of other blind persons in Bulgaria, with the aim of establishing to what extent they have realization in the musical profession.
