Лингва франка – концептуализация и процеси на развитие

Статията е насочена както към проследяване етимологията и изясняване на понятието лингва франка, така и към разграничаването на феномена от контактните езици. Въвежда се понятието АЛФ (английски език като лингва франка) и се дискутират причините за превръщането на английския в първата глобална лингва франка – какви са условията необходими за приемането на един език като международно средство за общуване и съществуват ли характеристики, присъщи на такъв общ език?Обсъжда се също факта, че съществуват разлики между нормативния английски език и АЛФ, като вниманието се фокусира върху английския като международно онлайн средство за комуникация.
