Notification of a private electronic identification scheme under Regulation (EU) № 910/2014)

Abstract

The article examines if a private electronic identification scheme is eligible for notification to the Commission by the Republic of Bulgaria. The paper discusses the requirements to notification of an electronic identification scheme, as a result of which the public authorities of the other Member States are obliged to accept the electronic identification means issued under the scheme when providing public services. The analysis of the legal framework in the Republic of Bulgaria shows that the established procedure for the notification of a private electronic identification scheme does not comply with the legal requirements.
