On the legal nature of the general grounds for termination of an employment contract

Abstract

The article focuses on the examination of the legal nature of some of the grounds for termination of an employment contract, namely, the general grounds. They have been a subject of consideration and discussion in the Bulgarian labor law literature; however, their legal nature is not fully clarified. Based on the legal analysis of their essence and classification, a conclusion is drawn with respect to the specificity of the legal nature of those of them in which the expression of will as regards the termination is a result of the statutory power to protect a legitimate interest in employment.
