Is familiarity with the principles of European family law necessary?On the occasion of the publication of Dimitar Topuzov’s new book „The Principles of European Family Law and the Prospects for the Development of Bulgarian Matrimonial Property Legislation

Abstract

The publication presents a critical review of Dimitar Topuzov’s new book, „The Principles of European Family Law and the Prospects for the Development of Bulgarian Matrimonial Property Legislation“. The analysis concludes that the study provides the Bulgarian legal community with an opportunity to engage with key achievements of the Commission on European Family Law, which may contribute both to the future modernization of Bulgarian family law and to the interpretation and application of the existing legal framework. The text also raises several questions prompted by the reading of the book.
