The Role of Parents in Preparing Children with Special Educational Needs for School

Abstract

This article explores the role of parental involvement in the successful preparation and adjustment of children with special educational needs to school and suggests specific guidelines for supporting future first-graders. Based on pedagogical experience and observations in a real educational setting, the issue of the readiness of first-graders with special educational needs arises, prompting a literature review and comparative analysis of the subject matter. This study aims to highlight problem areas that pose barriers to adaptation in the school environment and offers specific recommendations and effective strategies that parents and educational specialists can implement in the special preparation of preschool-aged children with psycho-physical developmental deficits, through the development of key skills.
