Ethics
Studia Archaeologica Universitatis Serdicensis expects its authors, editors, and reviewers to follow generally accepted principles of publication ethics. In dealing with questions of publication ethics, the editors follow the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), including its Core Principles. The journal’s policies are set out on the following pages:
- Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement: the responsibilities of authors, editors, and reviewers, including those concerning authorship, research data, and archaeological material; the handling of allegations of misconduct, complaints, and appeals; and post-publication discussion
- Conflict of Interest Policy: conflicts of interest of authors, reviewers, editors, and the publisher
- Plagiarism Policy: plagiarism, redundant publication, and prior publication
- Policy on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): the rules for authors, reviewers, and editors
- Copyright Notice: the license and the terms of reuse
- Retraction & Correction Policy: corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern
- Privacy Statement: the processing of personal data
Questions and concerns about publication ethics may be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief or, if they concern the Editor-in-Chief, to another member of the editorial team who took no part in the decision (see Contact).
These policies were last reviewed in September 2026.
