Abstract

Clara Toneva (Professor of History of Religions at the Sofia Univeristy) History of Religions in the Bulgarian Systematic Theology (in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Theology) The Theological Faculty of Sofia University opened its doors in 1923, and from the very beginning, the History of Religions was an important discipline in the curriculum. Over the past century, notable scholars such as Evtimiy Sapundzhiev, Boris Marinov, Nikolai Majurov, and others have worked in this field. Their contributions have been particularly significant in fostering dialogue with science and with other religious communities in Bulgaria. No-tably, there has been increased interest in Islam and its various forms in the region. In this context, the contributions of Clara Toneva and Zdravko Kanev are particularly significant.
