About the Journal
The serial Papers from the International Scientific Conference of the European Studies Department, Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence, Faculty of Philosophy at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ (IEUSConf) is an academic publication of the ‘European Studies’ Department of the Faculty of Philosophy at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski.’ Its mission is to contribute original knowledge within the domains of the social sciences, with a particular emphasis on European integration. The issues are organised by thematic panels, covering topics such as Economics, Law, Media, Culture and Identity in the context of European studies.
EUSConf is published annually and accepts original manuscripts that have not been previously published, in whole or in part, under the same or an alternative title. Contributions are accepted in English. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. The serial fully complies with the highest international standards and criteria for the evaluation of academic publications, as recognised by leading global scientific indexing and abstracting databases.
Since 2014 each year the Department of European Studies and its Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence has become a hub of debate as university professors and academic experts gather to discuss key challenges and opportunities facing Europe and Europeans. Each year’s edition of the conference is unique in its focus in order to match the changes in Europe and in the world. The conference aims at gathering academics and researchers from EU Member States, from candidate countries and countries - potential candidates for EU membership, or from countries that are part of the European Neighborhood Policy or representatives from other countries to discuss the most current and relevant topics in the field of European integration.
