This book presents a study of language games (LG) in informal communication discourse in the unofficial segment of the Russian internet space, where digital hybrid entertainment genres in banner format (a term proposed by the author) are widely represented. In the monograph, their comic examples are considered as an integral element of the written form of online communication, as a source of original expression and witty humour. Over 600 amusing microtexts (230 used in the monograph) created by anonymous authors are analysed. Particular attention is paid to the sociocultural and psychological factors that influence the playful communicative act.
