The analysis fosuces on the cases in the Russian language and their research. In the first part of the monograph, a detailed review of the concepts of cases since antiquity is made, then in the first grammars of the Church Slavonic language, followed by developments in Russian linguistics from Lomonosov to modern generalizing works on Russian grammar. The author has also devoted space to a significant overview of the evolution of the interpretations of this grammatical category in the Bulgarian language. In the second part of the monograph, a synchronous description of the cases in the modern Russian language is offered, and for each of the cases an analysis of its formal and semantic evolution in comparison with the Old Bulgarian and Old Russian languages is provided.
