This article dials with external dative possessor in three Romance languages (Romanian, French, Italian) and one Slavic language (Bulgarian). This type of possessive constructions is considered a characteristic feature of Romance languages and Bulgarian.
Our goal is to analyse the notion of possession in these constructions from both a syntactic and semantic point of view, and to compare the expression of possession and the role of the article and some differences that arise with or without articles in the constructions with external dative possessor in the languages under consideration.
